LEAF Festival, Downtown Asheville

LEAF Down by the River Festival, Asheville

August 20, 2022
A fantastic world cultural arts festival, LEAF Downtown, returns in 2022 as LEAF Down by the River at Asheville's new outdoor venue, The Outpost (521 Amboy Road). LEAF hopes to return to Downtown in 2023. (Feature photo is from LEAF Downtown in previous year)

The organizers know how to present a great shindig since they have hosted the big LEAF Festival twice a year in Black Mountain for more than 20 years. Their belief is that music and art have the power to cross all social and cultural boundaries, and bring people together to learn, grow, and celebrate our diversity through creativity. The day will be dedicated to local youth, family, and community. Enjoy cultural youth performances, dance classes, roaming artists, bounce houses, youth competition finalists, and activities like renting kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes. There is no admission charge, though a donation of $10 is suggested.

Hours: Saturday 11 AM-8 PM

Enjoy plenty of local vendors including food, drinks, handicrafts, healing arts, and more. They'll also have the LEAF Art Dash 5k on Saturday at the River Arts Greenway at 8:30 AM  (register online).
