Greek Festival, Asheville

Greek Festival, Asheville

2020 Event Update: The 2020 Greek Festival will be a drive-thru only festival featuring traditional Greek foods in a takeout format. Strictly following the COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, the annual festival will take place on September 25-26 in the Historic Montford District as in years past.

Below is Pre-COVID Greek Festival Info (Not 2020)
The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Asheville presents the annual Greek Festival, held at the church at 227 Cumberland Avenue, a short drive from downtown Asheville.

Sample some of the traditional foods like lamb shank, pastichio, spanakopita, gyro & souvlaki, and pastries like baklava, kourambiethes, galatoboureko and loukoumathes. Watch traditional dancing and enjoy the authentic, festive Greek music.

Activities include traditional Greek folk dancing, cooking classes, and jewelry and crafts. Relax and enjoy some imported Greek wine, or rest at the Kafenion with a cup of expertly brewed Greek coffee.

The "agora" (marketplace) is set as if you were strolling through the narrow streets of the villages of their ancestors. Take a tour of the church, that is deep in history in itself. Learn about the history of the parish, church architecture, and Orthodox liturgical practices.

Join the fun and become "Greek for a day!" Admission is free.
