Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West family theme park that has been the High Country's premier family fun theme park for over 70 years! Dubbed North Carolina's first theme park, Tweetsie Railroad features a three-mile, steam-powered train ride through the mountains, along with shopping, live entertainment, amusement rides, and a petting zoo. Steam engine #12 is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
Tweetsie Railroad is open weekends starting in April and five days a week from May 29-August 13 before returning to their weekend schedule from September-October 29. The park's regular hours are 10 AM-6 PM, and Friday and Saturday nights, September 22 – October 28, during Ghost Train and select
evenings November 24 – December 30 during Tweetsie Christmas.
Tweetsie also features seasonal favorite events, like their Ghost Train Halloween Festival, Tweetsie Christmas, and July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza.
