Your first stop should be to Asheville’s Dog Welcome Center (the first official in the United States!). It's located at The Dog Door on Battle Square in downtown Asheville. They have potty areas, water fountains, free goody bags and info on dog-friendly attractions in Asheville, restaurants, and things to do in the area. Pet-friendly hotels in Asheville like Aloft offer fun doggy add-ons like a doggy bed, goody bags and rooftop walking area for your furry visitor. Other places like cabins and B&Bs provide a home-like environment for you and your pet, some even have large fenced-in areas for your dog to run.
