Ingles Blue Ridge Volleyball Returns Downtown 

The Blue Ridge Volleyball Classic returns September 4–6 at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville. The NCAA Division I women’s preseason invitational features Western Carolina, Seton Hall, Bellarmine, Jacksonville State, and hometown favorite UNC Asheville. Celebrate Skyview’s Historic Golf Legacy 

The 66th Annual Skyview Golf Tournament tees off September 21–22 at the Country Club of Asheville. Founded by Asheville’s Black golfing community in 1959, Skyview created competitive opportunities when segregation limited access to many courses and tournaments. Championship Volleyball Arrives in November 

Volleyball returns to Harrah’s Cherokee Center November 19–22 for the Ingles Southern Conference Volleyball Championship. Three-time defending champion Wofford will pursue a fourth consecutive tournament title, while new conference member Tennessee Tech brings fresh excitement to the field. Over four days, teams will compete for the championship and an automatic berth in the NCAA Volleyball Championship, all in the heart of downtown Asheville. Winter Begins on the Wrestling Mat 

The 9th annual Ingles Great Smoky Mountain Grapple returns December 18–19 after a 2025 event that welcomed nearly 900 athletes for 1,615 matches. Last year’s field included 47 total schools, including: 42 varsity teams, 224 girls’ division wrestlers, and competitors from five states. The upcoming Grapple promises another energetic finish to the year for athletes and families. Find out more about this year's grapple.

Relive the Asheville Tennis Open 

The 94th Asheville Open brought generations of players to Aston Park Tennis Center in July, welcoming 366 adult and junior boys and girls ages 12–18 to its 12 lighted clay courts. $14,000 of the tournament cash revenue will support Asheville Tennis Association outreach, including programs for underserved youth and adaptive athletes. Relive Gran Fondo 

Asheville Gran Fondo Asheville welcomed 619 registered cyclists on July 19, representing 30 states, Washington, D.C., and several countries. Riders ages 8 to 79 followed three routes through downtown and the Blue Ridge, raising $15,000 for The White Line Foundation and building momentum for Asheville’s 2027 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships.
