5 Must-Stop Breweries in Brevard, NC

After exploring NC's Land of Waterfalls, try these top taps to cap off a day of adventure. Water is also a critical component of excellent beer, which you can find on tap at all five of Brevard’s local breweries. These run the gamut in size, shape, and flavor profile, but all are must-stops for fans of a delicious pint, a welcoming atmosphere, and anyone curious to get a taste of what Brevard’s storied waters can do.

Brevard Brewing Company 

As the only brewery in Downtown Brevard, Brevard Brewing Company is an easy stop while exploring Main Street. 

Nestled inside a historic building, this local favorite is led by brewmaster Kyle Williams. Kyle specializes in well-balanced, classic beers from crisp lagers to bold ales. Grab a pint in the taproom, then take it with you as you browse shops, galleries, and restaurants throughout the Brevard Social District. That’s right, Brevard has a designated downtown area where adults aged 21 and older can legally walk around with alcoholic beverages. 

Ecusta Brewing Company 

Located just outside Pisgah National Forest on the historic grounds of the former Ecusta paper mill, Ecusta Brewing Company blends local history with a welcoming atmosphere. 

Their signature and seasonal brews pair perfectly with the menu from Gordingo's. It is an ideal stop for lunch, dinner, or a post-hike pint. Grab a seat in the spacious taproom or relax on the outdoor patio before heading off to your next adventure. 

Noblebräu Brewing 

Located inside 185 King Street in Brevard's Lumberyard District, Noblebräu Brewing is the creation of brewer Cody Noble. Cody keeps the taps fresh with a continually rotating lineup of house brews. 

Pair your beer with their famous chicken sandwich, settle in around the fire pit, and enjoy live music in what's affectionately known as "Brevard's Backyard." 

Griffon & Sphynx 

Also tucked into Brevard's Lumberyard District, Griffon & Sphynx is the kind of brewery that invites you to slow down. 

Renowned brewmaster Wayne Wambles is known for classic beer styles, wood-aged beers, and approachable lower-ABV brews. They serve in a cozy taproom that has a loyal local following. If you're looking for a quieter spot to enjoy a well-crafted pint, this is it. 

Oskar Blues Brewery 

With plenty of room to spread out, live music, and the CHUBwagon serving food onsite, Oskar Blues Brewery is built for lingering. 

Brewed with the same clean mountain water that draws people to Pisgah National Forest, the beer lineup ranges from Dale's Pale Ale to seasonal and small-batch releases. Oskar Blues has more than 30 taps pouring throughout the year.
