Get ready for a magical, eco-friendly adventure in Asheville this winter! The North Carolina Arboretum is hosting the U.S. premiere of "Trolls: A Field Study" by renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo. From November 15, 2025, through February 17, 2026, twelve whimsical troll sculptures will take up residence in the Arboretum's gardens and trails, embarking on a curious journey to learn about the little humans.

Crafted from reclaimed materials like fallen branches and wooden pallets, these seven-to-nine-foot "Baby Trolls" each have their own distinct personality. Visitors can use a special "treasure map" to track down and interact with the trolls, uncovering the enchanting lessons they've learned about our world.

Adding to the magic, six of the trolls will also be featured in the Arboretum's beloved Winter Lights display from November 15 through January 4. Stroll through the twinkling lights and discover the trolls' delightful discoveries.

This free, family-friendly exhibition not only sparks wonder but also promotes environmental stewardship—a perfect fit for Asheville's vibrant, nature-loving community. Don't miss your chance to meet Thomas Dambo's whimsical troll ambassadors this winter!
