For 2026, this event will be held on the Upper Quad on the campus of Mars Hill University. The festival is the second longest-running folk festival in Western North Carolina. It gets its name from Bascom Lamar Lunsford, a musician and folklorist who dedicated his life to collecting and promoting Southern Appalachian music.
