The Asheville Downtown Association's annual Independence Day Block Party includes South Slope this year. Live music kicks off at noon the party zone, followed by Ultimate Air Dogs demonstrations on Buxton Avenue at 3 p.m. See a car show on South Coxe Avenue at 5 p.m. Empire Strikes Brass headlines the Asheville Yards Stage at 7 p.m.. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30. Expect food vendors, local makers, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Downtown businesses will be open. The celebration is free and open to everyone.
