Spend a fall afternoon at Animal Haven of Asheville, a nonprofit farm animal sanctuary in East Asheville. The annual Fall Fundraiser runs Sunday, October 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. 

Enjoy a full vegan buffet with dessert, plus beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. Southern Style Band plays live, and a silent auction features items from local artists and businesses. Walk the grounds to meet more than 60 rescued animals, and stop by the sanctuary's thrift store. 

Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the door. Kids under 12 get in free. All proceeds pay for food, shelter, medical care, and enrichment for the animals. 

Parking is available on-site. Overflow parking with a shuttle is at Smokey Mountain Lumber Mill, 19 Lower Grassy Branch Road, just before the sanctuary entrance.
