The Aloft Hotel in downtown Asheville opened in 2012 in the heart of the city on Biltmore Avenue, one block from Pack Square. It's easy to see why this hotel has been voted the best pet friendly hotel by USA Today readers (Fall 2016), beating out 25,000 hotels in the competition. They have also received international attention for their fostering rescue dogs, leading to 85 adoptions since 2015!
They are way beyond "pet friendly." They love dogs! In fact, they usually have a foster dog greeting guests with an "adopt me" vest, hoping to find a forever home. They partner with Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue. The hotel will even help screen potential owners to create a perfect match. Above is Pepsi, arriving in April 2017. Stop by to say hello to their current pooch.
For traveling dogs and their owners, the hotel provides a pet bed, food and water bowls, goody bag, local bakery treat and even a rooftop puppy path for walking. For more info about visiting or rescue dogs, go to their Web site. Also see our Pet Friendly Asheville page for places to go with your dog.
