The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway is one of 16 properties in western North Carolina to achieve AAA’s Four Diamond distinction for 2012. The inn is about 55 miles from Asheville, 20 miles from Brevard, 15 miles from Cashiers, and 25 miles from Highlands and its many waterfalls.
The Greystone Inn received the AAA Four Diamond award the year it opened and has maintained the status for 26 consecutive years, more than any other property in western North Carolina. Only 14 restaurants and 33 accommodations throughout all of North Carolina have earned AAA Four Diamond status for 2012. A total of 2,245 establishments throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean achieved Four Diamond status this year – just 3.8% of more than 59,000 inspections. Four Diamond ratings are bestowed after specially trained professional evaluators conduct anonymous overnight stays or dine incognito.

“Each day our goal is to create a special experience for our guests by combining a full array of resort amenities, an incredible location, and exceptional guest services,” says Lovelace. “We’re proud of prestigious recognitions like AAA’s Four Diamond Award because they show us that we’re accomplishing this goal.”

The Greystone Inn is located inside of Lake Toxaway Estates, one of the area’s premier private communities, about an hour southwest of Asheville. It overlooks North Carolina’s largest private lake and is bordered by both the Pisgah National Forest and the Nantahala National Forest. Guests of the inn enjoy incredible dining, gracious service, and all of the amenities that the lake and adjacent Lake Toxaway Country Club have to offer.

The Greystone has received many other awards, including "best of the best" hotels in the U.S and the world for Conde Nast Traveler magazine's "Readers Choice Awards." Alongside The Peninsula's Chicago and Beverly Hills locations, one of the largest independent polls of consumer preferences among discerning travelers rated The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway in North Carolina its 15th highest rated property in the U.S.
