Outdoors gear can be very complicated! Before you head outdoors for hiking, paddling or camping, stock up with supplies and expert advice at Diamond Brand and the Frugal Backpacker stores in Asheville. They love to provide tips and guidance to visitors, whether you are an outdoors novice or expert. Or just pick up some fashionable clothes for in-town fun. Find the brands you love: Patagonia, The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Mountain Khakis, Keen and more.

During the 1950s, Diamond Brand began as an outdoor gear manufacturer, opening their first shop in the 60s. Since then, they have grown to become a favorite outdoors store for many Asheville locals - receiving a host of "best of" awards every year. What sets them apart from many other outfitters is their very knowledgeable staff. For instance, since they have seven Appalachian Trail thru-hikers on staff, who else can offer such expertise on equipment and strategy?
