Cherokee Indian Parade

Cherokee Indian Parade

October 2, 2018
Watch the big Cherokee Indian Fair Parade that opens their fair each fall during the first week of October. The caravan of beauty queens, local organizations tossing candy and bands starts at Harrah's Casino at 4 PM and slowly moves down the 2-mile route to the Fairgrounds (adjacent to the Museum of the Cherokee). It's free to enjoy. (Read all about the Cherokee Indian Fair.)

Be ready to wave and smile. Since the route is a couple of miles long, there are plenty of spots to watch and park. For the first 1.5 miles, the parade follows the five-lane US Highway 19. Then it takes a right on the two-lane US 441 (Tsali Blvd) for a more intimate feel. We suggest parking near the Fair Grounds (545 Tsali Blvd) before the parade so you can attend opening night at the fair (opens at 5 PM).

The streets close at 3:30 PM. While the parade starts at 4 PM at Harrah's, it doesn't arrive to the Fair Grounds until 5 PM.
