What weather should you expect in Asheville and Biltmore Estate? The city sits in a valley at about 2,200 feet, surrounded by mountain peaks of more than 6,000 feet. This makes the weather interesting, and sometimes hard to predict. Always bring a jacket and rain gear if you plan to spend a lot of time outside. Temperatures usually run 10 to 25 degrees cooler in the higher elevations than in the city, including many sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. High elevation locations like Mt. Mitchell and Beech Mountain seldom go above 80 degrees, even in the hottest summer heat waves.
