
Conveniently near downtown Asheville, the Western North Carolina Farmer's Market is on a thirty-six-acre site with a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains. The market is open all year round, and seven days a week. The public is invited to come here and enjoy the atmosphere and character of the mountains. Admission is FREE. See a list of events below!
The retail area features displays of high quality fruits and vegetables, mountain crafts, jams, jellies, preserves, sourwood honey, and dozens of other farm fresh items. Inside you will also find a deli that offers sandwiches and ice cream. These buildings are open daily 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., April-October; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., November-March.
Jesse Israel & Sons Garden and Nursery Center feature top quality plants, trees, and shrubs. You will enjoy strolling through their colorful facility that includes a greenhouse full of tropical plants, ponds full of water plants, bonsai, and a forty-foot waterfall.
There are five open-air truck sheds to provide 194 spaces for farmers and dealers to display top quality produce at reasonable prices. One truck shed is specifically designated for certified farmers who sell what they grow direct to the consumer. The market has a small dealers building and two large wholesale buildings. These buildings offer produce year round to grocery stores, restaurants, institutions, and roadside markets. This area is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Directions
The WNC Farmers Market is found at 570 Brevard Road, in Asheville, North Carolina. The location could not be better, as it is at Exit #47 on Interstate 40.
If arriving on Interstate 40, simply take Exit #47 and turn South on Brevard Road (Highway 191), the WNC Farmers Market will be immediately on the left.
If arriving on Interstate 26 West, simply take Exit #33 and turn left on Highway 191(Brevard Road), continue approximately 1 mile. The WNC Farmers Market will be on your right. They are open daily serving three meals.

Watermelon Day
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sweet, juicy melons…what could be better on a hot summer day! Get a taste of fresh, locally grown watermelons at the Watermelon Day and enjoy a little family fun. Hosted by the WNC Farmers Market, the N.C. Watermelon Association, and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Watermelon Day has activities to bring out the kid in all of us. There will be free watermelon slices for all and drawings for free watermelons and prizes. To round out the day's events, there will be a watermelon seed-spitting contest and watermelon-eating contest for kids. And, if coaxed a little, the reigning N. C. Watermelon Queen will show how far she can spit a watermelon seed!
