Established in 1997, Jack of the wood was one of downtown Asheville’s first pubs and the original home of Green Man Brewing. We serve a great selection of whiskeys, 18 rotating taps featuring local and world craft brews, and an award-winning menu with comforting favorites. We present our long running Bluegrass Jam Thursday nights, TOURING BANDS FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS, and a Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday afternoons. We’re so excited to welcome LYDIA HAMBY for her @jackofthewood debut TONIGHT — SAT 4/27 — at 9pm! Hamby is an accomplished bluegrass musician & gifted singer-songwriter whose passion for the genre runs deep, rooted in her upbringing in WNC and nurtured through her musical studies at ETSU. Starting with piano lessons at the age of 4, she eventually found her way to the mandolin — and to singing. In her college studies of bluegrass, old-time & roots music, Hamby further hones her craft under the mentorship of industry luminaries Mike Compton, Tim Stafford & Dan Boner.
