Carolina Mountain Ribfest, Asheville

The Carolina Mountain Ribfest will return to the WNC Agricultural Center Fairgrounds July 9, 10, 11, 2010. This Asheville food festival features mouth watering BBQ ribs, chicken, and pulled pork prepared by world class, award winning barbecue rib vendors from around the country. Savor all the traditional side dishes, beverages, desserts and comfort foods as well.

You can vote for your favorite, the Best Ribs and Best Sauce will win the Golden Pig Award. To work off that stuffed feeling, you can browse and shop the expanded commercial exhibits and arts and crafts area. Enjoy the full Carnival with spectacular adult and children’s rides and games. On Saturday there’s also the Bike Show and Sunday you can check out the Custom and Classic Car Show. There is food and fun for the whole family. Bring your lawn chairs and beach blankets and enjoy the day. The Carolina Ribfest is a featured event in Southern Living magazine's "Big Book of Barbecue".

Friday, July 9:

Saturday, July 10:

  • Goose Creek Symphony – Their own brand of music
  • Rosie Ledet & The Zydeco Playboys – Zydeco/Blues/2 Step
  • Angela Easterling and The Beguilers - Americana/Folk/Roots Music
  • Wolf Creek Country – Americana/Bluegrass/Country
  • The Leigh Glass Band – Americana/Blues/Rock
  • The New Relics - Country
  • Sunday, July 11: Balsam Range – Bluegrass/Acoustic
  • The Flying Saucers
  • The Silver Revival – Oldies Rock
  • Cici Jansen - Country

Hours are Friday 4 pm to 11 pm, Saturday 11 am to 11pm, and Sunday 11 am to 7 pm. Admission is $6.00 daily for adults, children under 12 years are admitted free with adult. The Western Carolina Agricultural Center is located adjacent to the Asheville Airport at exit #40 off I-26 between Asheville and Hendersonville, N.C.
